Introduction to Climate Change
In this module we will cover basic information about climate change as a human-made problem and how it is caused. We will briefly detail useful technical information about greenhouse gases and explain the effects of climate change. Most importantly, we will cover who is most affected by climate change, and how it interacts with gender. The final section covers global action for climate change. It explains the mechanisms used to keep global warming in check and the work ahead of us, and explains how you can play a role in advancing gender just climate action.
Gender and Climate Change
This module provides an overview of the intersections between climate change and gender. We will discuss how climate change as well as actions and policies to respond to climate interact with gender. We will discuss 2 case studies to give you a greater understanding of the linkages between gender, climate change, and climate action. The final section provides resources, including a gender toolkit.
Climate Change, Cities, and Gender
This module provides an overview of climate change and climate action in cities. You will learn how cities are key actors in climate change, what risks they face, and what opportunities exist for climate action at the city level. The module will introduce urban climate policy, and detail how women can be better included in it. Finally, you will be briefly introduced to gender impact assessments in the urban context. The next module will cover these in greater detail.
