West Africa Learning Event - Community Based Adaptation

Does your work involve reducing community vulnerability to the climate change impacts which are being felt across West Africa?
Do you have experience in adaptation to climate change, or you need these skills for your work?
Would you like to share and learn about practical adaptation approaches and methodologies being developed and applied by a growing number of adaptation programmes in the region?.

The Adaptation Learning Programme (ALP) of CARE International is joining forces with the Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) Program to convene a social learning event on Community Based Adaptation (CBA) in West Africa.  Over the course of three and a half days we will focus on sharing learning from practical experiences, co-creating new knowledge and addressing some of the challenges related to good adaptation practices.

Event Themes :
1.     Building the knowledge base on CBA
2.     Facilitating CBA: a bottom up and inclusive approach.
3.     Integration of CBA in local development and planning
4.     Providing the evidence and networking

Target audience:  Practitioners, researchers, government and civil society organizations involved in adaptation to climate change in West Africa.
