  • communicate the need for social change, recognising care work, overcoming division between conventional and care economy, redirecting priorities

LCD strategies need to take account of the care economy, the specific energy needs care givers have and ensuring that they have access to clean and affordable energy and transport services. Addressing the different needs of the conventional and care economy, redirecting priorities would also require a social change in the way care work is distributed between men and women.

Think this is very important, it is great that it is included. Because in a sense a low carbon economy has to look at all those things which were never accounted for before, like women's free labour or like fresh air, clean water and climate stability. So it requires a different way of looking at things.
