How your personal data will be processed
Dear User,
Statistics (see below) regarding the usage of Moodle will be automatically collected and stored . These statistics can only be accessed by the administrators and managers of the learning platform. By registering with Moodle, you agree to the collection and analysis of this data.
We will delete every Summer all accounts from people who have not used the platform for more than 4 Years. Before you agree, please also read the following details on automatic data collection.
Using the learning platform is an integral part of the lessons
For personal access to the Moodle blended learning platform, it is necessary to provide the following personal data electronically:
- surname and first name
- user name
- email address
- place of residence
- country
Every user can add additional personal data to their profile on a voluntary basis.
Furthermore, from the moment of registration as a user, the learning platform will process data you enter or data that is automatically generated when using the platform. To the extent that these refer to your person and not only to a fictitious identity, they are considered personal data. All relevant privacy regulations also apply to the learning platform, which, above all, require that detailed information be given on the kind and scope of personal data that will be collected and on how it will be processed.
All personal data collected and stored is deleted automatically after 180 days.
Data communication
In order to access the Moodle learning platform, cookies must be enabled. An authenticated connection is used for communication with the Moodle learning platform. In the default selections, thre modules are protected against indexing by search engines. If module designers want guests to be able to access the virtual classroom, a search machine can be enabled to index it. The internal communication system of the Moodle learning platform may not be used for advertisements.
Use of teaching/study materials
All teaching/study materials available on the Moodle learning platform are intended exclusively for account holders and may not be given to third parties. It is not permitted to make materials available via the Moodle learning platform for another purpose. LIFE e.V. as the operator is not liable for the published contents.
Copyright
Texts, images and software are generally protected by copyright. By placing information and materials on the Moodle learning platform, users guarantee that they are in possession of the required user rights.
When using information and materials provided by the Moodle learning platform, copyright and other use restrictions must be observed, in particular, the usage and distribution rights (§ 15 and following of the copyright laws) of the holders of these rights.
Violating copyright may result in the initiation of civil and criminal proceedings. It is the user's obligation to determine and satisfy copyright restrictions. LIFE e.V. as the operator disclaims any liability arising from third party claims resulting from the violation of copyright.
Moodle protocols
For every action on the Moodle platform, the following data is recorded for troubleshooting and statistical purposes:
- Time of the action
- IP address of the calling computer
- Complete user name
- Action and relevant course
Only Moodle administrators have access to this data. Mangers have access to Moodle reports on actions by students in a course. All Moodle records are deleted after 180 days, the approximate duration of a project.
Privacy Policy for the use of Matomo
This website uses the open source web analytics service Matomo. Matomo is installed on our server in Hamburg and uses so-called "cookies". These are text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of the use of the website by you. For this purpose, the information generated by the cookie about the use of this website is stored on our server. The IP address is anonymized before saving. The information generated by the cookie about the use of this website will not be disclosed to third parties. You can prevent the storage of cookies by a corresponding setting of your browser software; however, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use all the features of this website to the fullest extent possible. If you do not agree with the storage and use of your data, you can disable the storage and use here. In this case, an opt-out cookie is deposited in your browser which prevents Matomo from saving usage data. Deleting your cookies will result in deletion of the Matomo opt-out cookie as well. The opt-out must be reactivated when visiting our site again.
Information, cancellation, blocking
At any time you have the right to free information about your stored personal data, their origin and recipient and the purpose of the data processing and a right to correct, block or delete this data. Use of YouTube
Our website uses plugins from the Google-powered YouTube page. Site operator is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit one of our YouTube plug-in-enabled sites, you will be connected to the servers of YouTube. The Youtube server will be informed which of our pages you visited. If you're logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube allows you to associate your browsing behavior directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account. Google reCAPTCHA
We use "Google reCAPTCHA" (hereafter "reCAPTCHA") on our websites. Provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). With reCAPTCHA we want to check if the data entry on our websites (for example in a contact form) is done by a human or by an automated program. For this, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (for example, the IP address, the website visitor's visit time on the website, or user mouse movements). The data collected during the analysis will be forwarded to Google. The reCAPTCHA analyzes are completely in the background. Site visitors are not advised that an analysis is taking place. The data processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The Web site operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web sites from abusive automated spying and SPAM. This website is located on a server in Germany.
